I’m also a mama, a writer, a tea drinker, a list-maker, and above all else, a possibilitarian.
Maitri, loving-kindness to oneself and to others is the message at the heart of my teaching. I believe in yoga as a healing tool for the whole person—the physical, mental, and spiritual body—because it forces you to slow down, to learn what it means to practice maitri toward oneself.
I discovered yoga while living in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and it quickly became a part of my life. Years later I left academia for family life and returned to yoga to cultivate a sense of peace in the midst of my busy family life and to practice self-care as I navigated life with chronic illness. Following Krishnamacharya's approach to healing through yoga, I use the techniques and tools of yoga to make yoga accessible for each and every student, their unique body, and limitations.
